CBD Products

The number one question Spiritleaf receives from the public is if the stores carry CBD product.  Our answer:  Yes!  CBD dominant products are typically in stock at all Spiritleaf locations, if supply is available.  The products currently being offered in the legal market include either dried flower or bud, which can be smoked or vaporized, or ingestible oil varieties.  Find out what CBD is and some important facts about this compound before visiting the store.

What is CBD?  Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the 113 unique cannabinoids identified in Cannabis and is quickly gaining recognition for its potential medicinal benefits, without being psychoactive like THC.  Some individuals chose these types of products to avoid getting high or to treat specific ailments such as inflammation.  CBD products can be used both internally and externally, making it ideal for topical applications.

Some suggested strains would be Strawberry Haze, Animal Cookies and White Widow.  If you are vaping your product, the boiling point for CBN is said to be 185°C or 365°F for the best results.

What you might not know about CBD strains is that it is not scientifically possible to eliminate all traces of THC from these products. However, the amount of THC is usually low and can be less than 1% in some strains.  For those who are being tested for employment reasons, understand this could still result in a positive drug test because of the THC content.  Some other products offer what is called a 1:1 ratio, this simply means it has as much CBD as THC.

It is also important to know that CBD works best when combined with all the other components in Cannabis -this is referred to as the ‘entourage effect’.  Ethan Russo, M.D., who studied Cannabis compounds, details how these compounds influence each other’s overall mechanisms.  His research highlights all the possible synergies taking place within the whole plant and not just from one isolated compound.  Facts worth considering before selecting a strain!

There are a couple of CBD strains available now through the recreational market worth considering.  For CBD dominant products look for North Star CBD by AltaVie.  This sativa-dominant strain typically has less than 0.7% THC and has as much as 16% CBD.  This product comes in both dried flower and soft-gel form.  The most common product currently being sold now is from Leafs by Snoop (LBS) and is called Palm Tree CBD.  This indica-dominant strain typically has more of a balanced ratio with a mild THC potency and dense buds.
