Spiritleaf Morningside, Scarborough
Sharing our joy and our knowledge!
It is with great pride that Spiritleaf opened another location in the greater Toronto area, also referred to as the GTA. Overlooking Lake Ontario, north-east of Toronto’s downtown core, is the suburb of Scarborough. It occupies the eastern portion of the city and is considered to be the fourth-largest district in the GTA.
This multicultural area is a popular destination for newcomers to Canada, creating a truly vibrant community. As much as 52% of its residences are classified as working age, which ranges between 25 and 64 years old.
The community is known for its spectacular views and natural landmarks. Stretching 15 km along the Lake Ontario shore is the Scarborough Bluffs that includes nine parks for residents and visitors to explore. Experience eleven thousand acres of urban wilderness that makes up the Rouge River Valley. There is also the Highland Creek which is a great home for local trout, carp, bass and salmon. Last but not least, there is Morningside Park Trail. This beautiful green space is the largest in Toronto and includes picnic areas and several walking paths.
Recreational activities nearby include the Toronto Zoo, an abundance of golf courses and a sports complex. For the artsy type, the area features the Scarborough Worldwide Film Festival and many local arts organizations such as Music Theatre and Choral Society.
This store owner has a long history within the community and with the company. Read more to learn about his professional background below.
- What is your first name and professional background?
My name is Jasper. I danced professionally for 8 years and was in retail management for about 5 years.
- Where is your store located?
My store is located in East Scarborough on Morningside and highway 401. Store address is 875 Milner Avenue, for more store details click here.
- Why did you choose to open (or work for) a Cannabis retail store-front?
Being born and raised in Scarborough I saw it as a great opportunity to open one of the first legal cannabis stores within my community. Educating and eliminating the stigma behind cannabis and the people who use it means a lot to me.
- What attracted you to Spiritleaf?
It was the store itself and how it looked meshed perfectly with what I wanted to accomplish, eliminating the stigma. But most importantly, I truly resonate with their manifesto – to spread peace love and harmony.
- Other interesting facts about you that the public should know?
I’m one of the early pioneers for Toronto’s Krump movement. I also love mentoring others, teaching them dance and sports (basketball).
