The continued evolution of the Spiritleaf brand is made possible because of our partnership with Up Cannabis and the installation of what we are calling the ‘Up Lounge’ inside Spiritleaf stores.
Under the strategic alliance, Newstrike and Spiritleaf have created Up Cannabis Experiential Hubs within Spiritleaf stores where consumers can enjoy the Company’s quality lifestyle brands. The store-in-store experience complements the existing Spiritleaf design elements and provides education about Cannabis, showcases both companies’ love of music and their various community and charitable endeavors.
About Newstrike and Up Cannabis:
Newstrike is the parent company of Up Cannabis Inc., a producer of Cannabis that is licensed to both cultivate and sell Cannabis in all acceptable forms. Up Cannabis is, in turn, the parent company of Up Cannabis Niagara Inc. Newstrike, through Up Cannabis and together with select strategic partners, including Canada’s iconic musicians The Tragically Hip, is developing a diverse network of high-quality Cannabis brands. For more information visit www.up.ca or www.newstrike.ca.
“Partnering with Newstrike & Up Cannabis is a unique opportunity for both organizations to showcase the amazing initiatives that they have undertaken. It will allow our mutual customers to visit Spiritleaf stores and, through each Up Cannabis Experiential Hub, experience how Cannabis, music, education and community can come together and have a positive impact”, says Darren Bondar, President & CEO of Inner Spirit Holdings.
These designated areas in the stores are defined by a unique walnut wall treatment and have a branded wall-sized graphic. In some cases, there are walnut and leather chairs and an autographed guitar. To complete the space there are one-of-a-kind paintings featuring Gord Downie, exclusive to Spiritleaf. The artwork was done by Russell Thomas Art, who is a full-time artist based in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. There are also plans to add a music listening station to round out this Canadiana collection.

At the head office in Calgary there is a designated conference area which is dedicated to the Legacy Space program. The idea is to have a safe place that encourages and facilitates ongoing conversation about the objectives of the fund. Spiritleaf sees this as an opportunity to demonstrate its active commitment to the work of reconciliation answering the call to ‘ReconciliAction’ introduced by Gord Downie himself.
