Rated 1 (low score) to 5 (high score)

Packaging/Weight:  I’ll rate this a 4.  The packaging does have the required government warnings and stamps. The label also provides details about its contents and use.  I like that the bottle isn’t too bulky and comes in a cardboard box instead of more plastic.  The topical comes in a medium-sized plastic container that is easy to dispense. The package states it contains the equivalent of 0.9 g of dried cannabis.

Look:  I’m rating this a 4 also.  The topical is white in colour and has a consistency similar to a lotion.  It is fluid and medium weight but was a bit tacky once absorbed in the skin.  The main ingredient listed is water, which makes it more like a lotion than cream and I would not recommend it for massage applications.

Smell:  I’ll rate this a 5!  Once applied, I immediately could smell the peppermint, reminding me of the classic Doublemint gum.  Information online says it contains arnica, peppermint, and juniper.  The smell of this topical was very enjoyable, adding to the overall experience.

Taste:  Not applicable, do not consume.

Effects:  I’ll rate this category another 5.  This topical contains high-quality plant extracts which could help to improve skin quality.  It was cool when applied onto the skin, which was a pleasant sensation for me.  I like this topical for use when I’m experiencing soreness and felt it was very effective for me (individual results will vary).  *Use as directed.

Comments:  With 10 years of experience in cannabis infused topicals, Apothecanna has developed a product with no parabens, no waxes, non-GMO, vegan, non-psychoactive and is never tested on animals.  However, I was unfamiliar with many of the organic ingredients listed, which are considered to be ‘natural’.  The product is simple compared to luxury beauty products available at stores, due to the strict government regulations about additives and packaging, etc.  With a multitude of uses, this topical is versatile and is a good value for the cost in my opinion.  I’m looking forward to trying the other products from this same line.

This product also comes in a larger 236g format and is currently available in Alberta and Ontario, as per their website.

Grow Notes:  The formula uses 48North’s outdoor-grown cannabis, no strain info is available.
